History

In October 2013 the KU Leuven Brussels Model United Nations team was set up by Ivan Westerhof. Ivan Westerhof went to an MEU conference in Belgrade called BEUM. He was very excited about the concept. Unfortunately there wasn’t a MUN team on his campus. (KU Leuven Campus Brussels) So he decided to found a MUN team at KU Leuven Campus Brussels. The goal at the start was just to have a couple of people to practice with and go to some conferences together. He made a kick-off session and it seemed that there was a lot of interest immediately. They formed a team of 10 people and started having weekly meetings. Their first conference was ULBMUN. They even participated in the WorldMUN that took place that year in Belgium. And from then on, KULBRUXMUN became bigger and attended many conferences abroad!
